Making the Edges Foggy

Use this technique to make the edges of an image foggy.

  • Create a new image with a white background that is twice the width and twice the height of the original image.

  • Copy the original image into the centre of the new image.

  • Without deselecting the original image, select Image | Special Effects | Create Seamless Pattern. This will crop the image back to its original size, but create a fog effect around the edges.

  • By changing the colour of the larger image, you can change the colour of the fog. You can also use an image, rather than just a solid colour for the larger image and the second image will bleed over the first.
